Welcome to “EVAL 101” for In/Non-formal Science Education
This website is a resource for anyone who is interested in assessing science learning in informal or non-formal educational settings.
Our goal is to provide foundational background information and support capacity and skills for conducting evaluation. This website is made especially for those who have no prior experience or for those who just want to learn more!
We provide 13 modules that follow the process of evaluation from start to finish. Each module includes a short informational video and a note-taking worksheet to reflect on how the content in the video applies to your specific educational program.
The 13 modules
> Module 1: Guiding Ideas and Principles of Evaluation > Module 2: Issues of Ethics in Evaluation > Module 3: Culturally Competent Evaluation > Module 4: Choosing a Project to Evaluate > Module 5: Identifying Outcomes of Interest > Module 6: Articulating a Theory of Change > Module 7: Developing a Logic Model > Module 8: Matching Outcomes to Indicators > Module 9: Choosing a Data Collection Method > Module 10: Collecting Data > Module 11: Analyzing Data > Module 12: Interpreting Data to Make Recommendations > Module 13: Communicating the Results
