Information on Conference Meals and Transportation

Conference Meals
Meals during the conference (breaks and lunches) will be provided throughout the conference by Catering by Design. If you have specific dietary requests, please email Heysha Carillo (mcarril2@ncsu.edu) or Maria Coady (mcoady@ncsu.edu).

Wednesday night is a special Welcome Event. The event will include a buffet style dinner, music, and a cash bar. This will be held from 5:30-7:30 pm at the StateView Hotel ground floor. Music provided by bilingual educators, Rody J. Huertas.

Thursday and Friday breakfast are by hotel voucher (which will be provided upon check-in) at the StateView Hotel.

Thursday and Friday lunch will be catered at the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation. Thursday is box lunch and Friday is buffet lunch.

An optional Thursday dinner event (free for those who attend) will take place off campus. Transportation to the event will be provided to conference attendees who are staying at the StateView Hotel. Dinner will be "on your own" if you do not attend the event.


Transportation
Air travel: Raleigh Durham International Airport (RDU). American Airlines, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, and Southwest fly in and out of RDU.

Uber/taxi: From RDU to the Marriott StateView Hotel is about 15 miles and takes between 20 and 25 minutes. The cost to Uber or taxi is approximately $25 each way. Transportation between RDU and the hotel or conference venue is not paid or reimbursed by CREER23.

During conference transportation: We will arrange transportation from the Marriott StateView Hotel to the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation at 8:30 on Thursday and Friday, and back each afternoon to the hotel upon conclusion of the day. You can also walk (about 10-15 minutes) with comfortable shoes. The walkway is on the NCSU campus and has low-speed traffic and beautiful landscape.
