The PTMT project began in 2005 with Hollylynne Lee and Karen Hollebrands (NC State) embarking to develop curricula material that embodied their approach to preparing teachers to teach with technology through iteratively, and sometimes simultaneously, engaging them in developing their mathematical\/statistical knowledge, pedagogical strategies, and technological skills. <\/strong>PTMT has grown substantially and since 2005 there have been many colleagues across institutions who have contributed to PTMT related projects. PTMT is truly a cross-institutional effort and will continue to impact the mathematics teacher education efforts at institutions across the U.S. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Hollylynne Lee<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong> is a Distinguished University Professor of Mathematics and Statistics Education at NC State University. She has been a PI\/Co-PI on several PTMT projects since its inception and has loved seeing it expand and the impact grow! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karen Hollebrands<\/strong><\/a> is the Associate Dean for Research and Innovation and Alumni Distinguished Undergraduate Professor of Mathematics Education at NC State. She has been a PI\/Co-PI on several PTMT projects and is PI on the LEAD-DG project that prepares teachers to use web-based dynamic geometry tools to lead productive discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Allison McCulloch<\/strong><\/a> is a Professor of Mathematics Education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has been part of the PTMT projects since 2011 including the recent Examining Student Practices project which focused on teaching practices that build on student thinking on technology-enhanced math tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jennifer Lovett<\/strong><\/a> is an Associate Professor of Mathematics Education at the Middle Tennessee State University. She has been part of the PTMT projects since 2012 first as a doctoral student and was PI on the Examining Student Practices project (PTMT-ESP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charity Cayton<\/strong> is an Associate Professor of Mathematics Education at East Carolina University. She was a PI on PTMT-ESP. She enjoys using the PTMT-ESP materials with PSTs and seeing growth in their noticing student thinking when using math action tools. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
