{"id":10,"date":"2018-07-06T17:18:12","date_gmt":"2018-07-06T17:18:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/research.ced.ncsu.edu\/ehre\/?page_id=10"},"modified":"2023-02-06T18:49:05","modified_gmt":"2023-02-06T18:49:05","slug":"project-description","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/research.ced.ncsu.edu\/ehre\/project-description\/","title":{"rendered":"Project Description"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The 5-year project funded by the National Institutes of Health (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nih.gov\/\">NIH<\/a>) provides <strong>professional development (PD) in environmental health research<\/strong> experiences for science high-school teachers from schools with high-poverty levels in North Carolina.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Science teachers and\/or preservice teachers participate in an <strong>8-week professional development program<\/strong> at NC&#160;State University, hosted by <a href=\"https:\/\/chhe.research.ncsu.edu\/\">CHHE<\/a>. The PD program provides teachers with <strong>immersive lab research experiences<\/strong> under the guidance of a mentor scientist.
